"Well done for finishing. True grit!"
" God bless you both, Jenny and Bruce, and all those who are served and who are serving through the End fund!"
Join the END Fund in the inaugural Race to See the END in Zimbabwe! Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in a completely unique race, while raising awareness and funds to help end neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
The Race will take place through Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, providing a stunning backdrop for travelers, marathoners, recreational joggers, and even the occasional wildlife. Runners will follow the route starting in Zimbabwe before crossing over the Victoria Falls Bridge and dropping briefly into Zambia, continuing through the Zambezi National Park.
Following the race, participants will visit NTD programs near Harare, Zimbabwe to see the efforts of their awareness and fundraising.
About the END Fund:
The END Fund works to control and eliminate the five most common neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). NTDs cause severe pain, long-term disability, and are the cause of death for over 500,000 people per year. Among children, infection leads to malnutrition, cognitive impairment, stunted growth, and the inability to attend school. Adults suffer from social isolation and are unable to work, and anemia caused by NTDs increases the risk of maternal mortality.
NTD treatment is known as the best buy in public health, with just 50 cents funds of medication required to treat an individual for the five most common NTDs. Studies show that NTD treatment is the single most cost-effective means of improving children's attendance and increasing capacity to learn and concentrate in school.
Zimbabwe, in southern Africa, is endemic with four of the five most common NTDs. The END Fund currently works to treat four of these diseases in affected areas throughout the country.
